Student Supports

Heartland CAMP is a first-year support program funded by the US Department of Education. We are committed to annually helping 35 college students from migratory and seasonal agriculture backgrounds successfully make the transition to college through a comprehensive package of academic, social, and financial supports.

During each CAMP Scholar's first year of college, CAMP provides the following free support and resources:

Financial Assistance

  • First Year Scholarship
  • Laptop

Academic Support

  • Intensive advising and mentoring
  • Free tutoring
  • First year success course
  • Connections with other programs and opportunities on campus

Social Support

  • Cultural, social, and community events
  • Connections with other student organizations

Beyond First Year

  • Referrals to other support programs on campus
  • Assistance with financial aid and scholarship searches
  • Advising
  • Mentorship opportunities
