Heartland CAMP is currently accepting applications for all partner institutions for both the 2022-23 and 2023-24 academic years.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE?
Applicant has participated in either the Migrant Education Program or National Farmworker Jobs Program
OR
The applicant or his/her parent(s)/legal guardian(s) have worked at least 75 days during the last 2 years as a seasonal farmworker. This includes activities directly related to the production of crops, poultry, livestock, or tree cultivation/harvesting.
ALSO
- Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, eligible to apply for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
- Will enroll full-time (12 or more credits per term) at a Heartland CAMP partner college or university.
- Be within the first year of college studies. This means the applicant has earned no more than 30 semester hours or 36 quarter hours.
*This credit limit does not include dual enrollment credits earned while in high school, nor ESL/developmental coursework earned in college.
HOW TO APPLY:
Step 1 – Complete the Heartland CAMP application.
Download the application (fillable pdf), save the file to your computer. Open file, complete, and digitally sign.
Step 2 – Submit your completed/signed Heartland CAMP application here
Step 3 – Apply to the Heartland CAMP college of your choice:
- University of Kansas
- Kansas City Kansas Community College
- Western Iowa Tech Community College
- Metropolitan Community College
Step 4 – Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER I APPLY?
Once Heartland CAMP receives your application, we will request your eligibility documentation and contact you to schedule a phone or Zoom interview.
